Classroom Videos

In today's world of ever changing technology we now have access to many sites that offer short videos of important videos in history.  As fellow social science teachers I am sure you have shelves full of videos that have great information in them, but they are long and students lose interest after the first few minutes.  I have found that utilizing such sites as You Tube, or The History Channel http://www.history.com/shows/america-the-story-of-us/videos gives educators the opportunity to not only use technology in the classroom, but it is also a way to provide your students with a short 2-5 minute video that has that standard that you are trying to teach your students for the day.  Students do not learn the same way they did 10 years ago.  We need to keep finding ways to educate our students in ways that keep them engaged and still learn the necessary information to meet the requirements dictated to us by our states.
